I kept hearing the same joke for years: "If you could just get over your shyness, Shiny!"
Obviously I was never perceived as a "shy" person by others around me, who knew me.
On the contrary, my confidence and assertiveness was even "too much" for some people that I interacted with.
But...
I had something similarly challenging inside.
I did not feel strong enough to speak my truth. So I either held back or said something I didn't really feel like.
I was too afraid of being judged, being shamed and being wrong.
Until I realized that I was the one judging myself... limiting myself... not allowing myself to express freely, truthfully, vulnerably...
Because of my childhood conditioning...
